Community Guidelines

These Guidelines set the standard for safety, professionalism, and fairness on Domesty. They apply to every interaction on the platform and complement our Terms, Payments, Insurance, Privacy, and Cancellation policies. By using Domesty, you agree to follow them.

1. Eligibility, Identity, and Verification

  1. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter contracts.

  2. You must use your legal name and a clear profile photo. No aliases for identity fields.

  3. Verification is required before creating tasks or making offers. Level 1 KYC includes date of birth, billing address, bank details, mobile verification, and a profile photo. Level 2 “Verified” requires a government-issued ID and proof of address.

  4. Businesses must provide accurate business names, registration details, and any required licenses for regulated services.

  5. Do not share or sell accounts. One person, one account.

2. Professional Conduct

  1. Be respectful, on time, and responsive.

  2. Communicate clearly about scope, location, timing, and constraints before work starts.

  3. Do not use abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or sexually explicit language.

  4. No unsolicited romantic advances or harassment on or off the platform.

  5. Attend scheduled appointments. If you cannot, give reasonable notice and follow the Cancellation Policy.

3. Task Creation and Offers

  1. Describe tasks clearly with measurable outcomes, access needs, and any special requirements.

  2. Set realistic budgets and timelines. If scope changes, update the task or agree a formal change in-app before proceeding.

  3. Only make offers you can fulfil. Do not lowball to win and upcharge later without scope change approval.

  4. Do not post duplicate or spam tasks.

  5. Do not post tasks that are illegal, unsafe, or prohibited.

4. Prohibited Tasks and Content

  1. Illegal activities, stolen goods, hacking, or evading law enforcement.

  2. Weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, prescription drug procurement, or paraphernalia.

  3. Adult or escort services, sexually explicit content, or voyeuristic recording.

  4. Unlicensed professional services where licensing is required, including medical, dental, legal representation, immigration advice, electrical and gas work where a license or certification is mandated.

  5. Alcohol, tobacco, or controlled items handling contrary to local laws or platform rules.

  6. Cash-handling, cash pickups, cryptocurrency transfers on behalf of others, or money-movement tasks resembling remittance or cash-out work.

  7. Misleading reviews, fake identities, or attempts to manipulate ratings or visibility.

  3. For in-home tasks, agree access arrangements in the chat and respect privacy and household rules.

  4. No recording inside private property without explicit consent.

  5. Children and vulnerable persons must not be left in the sole care of an unvetted provider, and childcare tasks must follow all local safeguarding laws.

6. Payments, Escrow, and Off-Platform Activity

  1. All payments must go through Domesty’s escrow. No cash, bank transfers, gift cards, or PayPal outside the platform.

  2. Do not solicit or accept off-platform work for a task posted on Domesty.

  3. Do not delay marking completion or releasing payment once the agreed work is done.

  4. Tips or add-ons must be processed in-app.

  5. Fee avoidance, price steering, or asking to cancel and “deal directly” is a serious breach and may result in account removal and loss of protections.

7. Insurance and Coverage Expectations

  1. Task Insurance applies only when eligibility criteria are met and the task is created and completed on Domesty with payment held in escrow.

  2. Coverage generally addresses accidental damage, loss, or theft related to the task when the policy conditions are satisfied. Coverage does not replace a warranty or guarantee of workmanship.

  3. You must follow all safety, verification, and payment rules to remain eligible.

  4. Report incidents promptly and provide evidence as outlined in section 10.

8. Quality, Completion, and Rework

  1. Only mark a task complete when the agreed work is finished to a reasonable professional standard.

  2. If work is incomplete or defective, the provider must make a reasonable attempt to remedy within a mutually agreed time.

  3. If a customer blocks reasonable access to remedy, Domesty may deem the task complete for payment purposes.

  4. For specialist trades, workmanship standards should align with applicable codes and manufacturer guidance.

9. Cancellations and No-Shows

  1. If a party cannot proceed, request a cancellation in-app with a clear reason.

  2. Repeated no-shows, late cancellations without good reason, or abuse of the cancellation system will affect account standing and may incur fees as per the Cancellation Policy.

  3. Where materials were purchased or significant time incurred, Domesty may authorise partial compensation if supported by evidence and platform rules.

10. Disputes and Evidence

  1. Keep all communication and agreements in Domesty chat. This is your record.

  2. When raising a dispute, provide clear evidence such as before-and-after photos, time-stamped messages, call logs, invoices, and expert assessments where relevant.

  3. Do not post private information publicly. Domesty will review evidence and may release funds, authorise partial refunds, or request rework based on policy and fairness.

  4. Abusive or threatening behaviour during disputes will result in enforcement action.

  2. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the new version.
